Security flaw: Android key rotation

Posted on August 11, 2013

According to there’s a massive flaw in random number generation on Android devices, which means moving coins out of any address that’s been generated or spent via an Android device.

No idea on details yet. I’m updating my client now though.

(Add: Always remember to take backups up new addresses)

Bitcoin – still not quite ready for mainstream use 😉

(ETA: Link to official announcement. Also looks like’s wallet is down, making it difficult for anyone looking to move coins around quickly.)

(Also, here’s the paper with technical details of the underlying RNG problem if you’re interested.)
